The Business (and Life) You’ve Dreamed of Starts With One Hard Truth: It’s Up to You.
Building is Hard, But It’s Worth It
Building a business you love is hard.
Building a life you love is hard.
Starting over? That’s hard too.
I get it.
To create a business that fits my life (not the other way around) I had to make tough choices. I had to step away from a role and a life that no longer felt right for me.
That meant taking a hard, honest look at my goals:
What did I truly want to accomplish?
How did I want to live?
And why weren’t my actions aligning with those goals?
Facing that truth was tough. Because my behavior didn't line up with my dreams.
But here’s the thing: no one is coming to save us.
We are in control of our own destiny.
Starting Over Isn’t Easy
At 45, I sold my home...the place that felt like a symbol of safety and stability and set out on an adventure with my husband.
It isn’t a decision society applauds. We’re told homeownership is the ultimate goal, the pinnacle of adulthood. But we knew it wasn’t right for us anymore.
Our identities become so tied to what we do, where we live, or how we think things “should” look. But it’s never too late to start fresh, to redefine who you are and what your life could be.
Building or Growing a Service-Based Business?
Stop talking about it. Start doing it.
If I were building from scratch or scaling my business today, here’s where I’d focus:
1️⃣ Build real relationships. Trust is the foundation of everything.
2️⃣ Get clear on your audience. Don’t try to help everyone.
3️⃣ Simplify your systems. Messy operations lead to burnout (quickly).
4️⃣ Focus on retention. Happy clients = referrals.
5️⃣ Show up consistently. Even when it feels hard.
Whether you’re just starting or taking your business to the next level, the hardest part is action.
You Don’t Have to Do It Alone
Momentum builds when you take that first step.
If you’re ready to map out your next moves, let’s talk.
